7 Tips For Success On The Internet
Almost everyone wants to succeed on the Internet. As a result most of the information on Internet marketing stress on the technical aspects of techniques and strategies that can make you successful. Some claim that these are ’secrets’ that only a selected group have access to! You will also come across information and websites that Guarantee ‘instant success’ if you just get hold of these ’secrets’. It is just like having the ’secret pill’
The truth is that there are no ’secrets’ on the Internet. This is because most information are freely available on the Internet. These so called ’secrets’ are merely techniques and strategies that are commonly used by most Internet marketers. The question is, ‘why are some people successful, while others do not succeed’?
I strongly believe that the missing ingredient for success on the Internet is having the right Mindset and Attitude. These are the much neglected aspects of Internet marketing.
Here are some of the mindsets and attitudes that may assist you to move your Internet business to higher level.
1. Belief
You need to have a strong belief system in order to succeed. Here are three things that you need to strongly believe in:
(a) The potential of the Internet and that it is a ‘vehicle’ that can move you towards your dreams.
(b) The products or services that you are promoting.
(c) YOURSELF! You need to believe that you are special and can succeed just like those who have succeeded.
2. Positive Attitude
The actions that you take may not yield you the intended result in the beginning. There may be set-backs and challenges along the way. No matter what the immediate outcome is, you need to always look at the positive side of things. Remember that the natural law of ‘Polarity’ dictates that there are two sides to every situation. Learn to look at the glass as ‘half full’ rather than ‘half empty’.
3. Learning Attitude
Learning is a continuous process. You will need to keep on learning and improving yourself no matter how successful you may be. This is more so on the Internet due to the rapid and constant changes. Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonalds said,’when you are green you will continue to grow, but when you are ripen, you will rot and drop to the ground’.
4. Grateful Attitude
Be forever grateful for what you have. You may not have achieved much success in the beginning, but you still need to have a grateful attitude. Give thanks for what you are currently achieving and you will have more in the future.
5. Be Humble
Regardless of your level of success you need to remain humble. You need to be a role model for others. Provide assistance and encouragement to others who are new and trying to follow in your foot-steps. I know that not all the ’successful’ Internet marketers have this quality. I have personally encountered some bad experience with these so called ’success gurus’ while trying to seek endorsements for my book.
They have quickly forgotten where they came from! Being busy is never a good excuse. Remember that whatever you sow, so shall you reap. If you sow encouragement and kindness, you will receive it back many folds. Likewise if you sow arrogance and discouragement, you will reap it back many folds.
6. Rapport
It is crucial to develop a good relationship with your prospects, customers and subscribers. Always set aside time to respond to ’support’ emails promptly. I realize that it will take time to do this but it is always the small stuff that makes a big difference.
I recently received an email from one of my ezine subscribers. He had recently lost his job and needed advice on how to start an Online business to market his knowledge.
Rather than trying to sell him my ebook, I took the time to email him with some of my ideas and suggestions. In view of his financial constraints, he ended purchasing my ebook. Later, he told me that the reason he purchased the ebook was because I took the time to respond to his email. It showed that I cared!
7. Persistency
Doing business on the Internet is not easy! This is why only 5% are successful. To put yourself in the 5% category you need to do things that the majority of the 95% do not like doing. Most of all you need to be persistent.
Think of Colonel Harland Sanders who received 1009 rejections before he received his first ‘yes’. That single ‘yes’ made him and Kentucky Fried Chicken successful all over the world.
Be persistent and have fun! You will make your journey more enjoyable.
These are some of the important mindset and attitude that you need to develop if you desire to have success on the Internet. Of course these have to be blended with the latest information on techniques and strategies. The combination of both the technical know-how and the mindset will provide you with the cutting edge.
